New Zealand musician Stephanie Brown, whose 2011 breakout ‘Everything to Me’ was so good it even managed to win a prestigious songwriting award in her homeland, now brings her low-key, Little Dragon inflected r’n’b to Frank Ocean’s superb portrait of the disaffected elite. Her sultry swoon is a nice counterpoint to Ocean’s impassioned delivery.

As with all Xiu Xiu covers, Jamie Stewart manages to deconstruct the song down it’s melody and then reconstruct a whole new vibe around that. With this cover of Rihanna’s hit jam, Xiu Xiu builds sharp synth and string lines into a something of a nightmare dance beat. It’s pretty wild to hear.
